Scholarship Prep
SCHOLARSHIPS REQUIRE WORK!
Scholarships are accessible in almost all government and private schools across South Australia. Whilst there are students who may naturally make for a great candidate, it is recommended that students undertake preparation to be as competitive as possible.
HOW DO THEY WORK?
Nearly all scholarships have different requirements depending on the school and the funding itself. One of the most common types of applications is an academic test hosted by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER). The ACER test has been both sat and tutored by many Wombat tutors. There are four age brackets for the ACER academic test:
Primary (students entering year 4, 5 or 6)
Level 1 (students entering year 7 or 8)
Level 2 (students entering year 9 or 10)
Level 3 (students entering year 11 or 12)
Wombat tutors are equipped to help your child prepare for either of the four! There are generally three components to each ACER test; written expression, (a creative writing piece which may take the format of a narrative/persuasive/or other long form text), mathematics, (a series of multiple choice maths questions), and humanities (which is closer to a reading comprehension or literature test.) Wombat tutors have access to a wide range of resources to help your child prepare appropriately for the ACER test. If you've only got one shot, you may as well ace it!
INTERVIEW PRACTICE
A major part of many scholarship applications is an in-person or online interview. Get in touch today at archie@wombattuition.com.au or +61 404 726 535 to chat further about how we can help your child with interview practice to build their confidence.
